My name is Clayton, and I'm from South East England. I decided to start my mobile valeting business when I was 19 years old.

At the time, I was working at Tesco and felt completely stuck. I knew I wanted more control over my time, more freedom and the chance to build a better lifestyle than I could see myself getting from a standard 9-to-5 job. I did not have a large budget, formal business training or expensive premises. I simply knew I wanted to create something of my own.

That was when I discovered mobile car valeting.

I bought a used van for around £1,000 and spent no more than £500 on my initial equipment, then started working on genuine paying customer vehicles. Every improvement was funded by the business itself rather than borrowing or buying kit I did not need.

Doing the work taught me the parts nobody explains up front: how to price jobs, find and keep customers, deliver a consistent service and run the day-to-day admin behind it. Through careful cleaning, clear communication and reliability, I built a mobile valeting operation with a 100% customer-satisfaction rate.
